Coddle The Leaders

I’m going to jump ahead of myself here a bit and skip over my post on the Republican convention aftermath and just pose a question for you to ponder for awhile.

McCain recently said in an interveiw that he felt that Sarah Palin was ready to lead the country as President should that need arise. This is a very important question, if anything should happen to the President, then the Vice President has to step in and take over so we need to look carefully at both of the candidates, not just the candidate for President, to decide if both are capable enough leaders to run our government.

McCain described Palin as a very strong and capable leader with a strong background in government leadership. Where he thinks this strong background comes from is anyone’s guess, certainly not from a couple years as a small town mayor, or the bungled job she did as Governor of Alaska, (she is under investigation for misappropiation of funds and abuse of power for using her position as Governor for personal gains). Perhaps it was being a Hockey Mom that made her such a strong leader. When asked about her experience with foreign policy, McCain’s answer was “Alaska is close to Russia”………. Hmmm, ok, he’s right, Alaska is close to Russia. And Montana is close to Canada, Texas is close to Mexico and Florida is close to Cuba. I’m not getting it, I don’t see where being in a border state makes you an expert on foreign policy.

So, here we are. We have a strong capable leader running for Vice President. And here is my question: If she is such a strong and capable leader, then why is she being coddled like a child in this campaign?

Palin has been limited to only saying things in public that are direct quotes from her speech at the RNC. The media is not allowed to go near enough to her to ask any questions and she can not answer any questions on the campaign trail. She hasn’t been allowed any interviews or any close contact with journalists.

According to McCain, she will do an interview when they feel that she is ready and that she is comfortable enough to handle an interview. And to make sure that the interview goes well, they have already decided on doing one for ABC news, but they will hand pick the interviewer and make sure that the interviewer only asks questions that she can deal with, mostly related to, you guessed it, her speech at the RNC. This will be a rehearsed interview with no surprises for her so she wont be made to feel uncomfortable.

So are we now supposed to believe that this woman is capable of stepping into the office of the presidency and taking over our government in the mess that it’s in now if she can’t even handle a public interview without handpicking the interviewer and pre-approving all of the questions? There is something terribly wrong with that picture, and the real scary part is, it seems to be working. People are actually believing in this woman even with the indisputable facts that show she has lied about every single one of her accomplishments in government.

The woman has a pretty face, a nice pair of tits and a hot ass, and the people in this country seem to be eating up everything the McCain campaign says about her. Is she helping McCains campaign simply by pulling in the horndog vote? It seems that way.

I think the time is now to stop coddling her like a child and let her prove that she can stand on her own before it’s too late and we end up electing a Vice President that has to hold someone’s hand to get from one place to another.

Perhaps we should coddle all of our leaders and only have them do things when they are ready and feel comfortable doing so. Just put all emergencies and disasters on hold until our leaders feel they are ready to deal with them, that would work, wouldn’t it?

Afraid not. If she needs to be coddled now, there is no way she will be able to handle the office of Vice President by January.

UPDATE:

The Palin interview will be aired on ABC tonight. I will give another update after watching it. ABC’s Charles Gibson will do the interview and there are a few questions that I would like to see asked but I know they will not be. Number one on that list would be: “When are you going to allow a no holds barred interview without handpicking the interviewer and censoring the questions?”

A few other questions I’d like to see answered:

1. Why do you claim credit for stopping the bridge to nowhere when you supported it until Congress was ready to decline it and the citizens of Alaska spoke out against it?

2. Why did you use your position as Governor to try and get your ex-brother-in-law fired and then force the state police chief out for refusing to do so?

3. Do you feel capable of taking over the presidency even though you have no foriegn relations experience?

4. Since you disagree with Hillary Clinton on just about everything, what makes you think that her former supporters should now support you?

5. Are you ready for an open public debate with the Democratic candidate Joe Biden?

Anyway, this interview will be taped, not live, and no hard questions will be asked. Tonight they will only show clips from it on “World News Tonight” the remainder of the interviews (there will be three of them) will be aired tomorrow night on a special edition of 20/20, which will also include a round table discussion moderated by George Stephanopoulos, ABC’s very own Republican propoganda talking machine.

  1. Keep Sarah in the spotlight. You guys are just sad because you didn’t think about supporting a woman for higher office. What a mistake. Bill Clinton has to sleep with that same homely lesbian bitch when he could have been getting some young white house intern tail.

  2. We were talking about running the country, not chasing a piece of tail around the oval office. I’m sure Palin would be a great piece of tail to chase around, and even more fun when you caught it, but she is not qualified to run our government. You are obviously one of those I was talking about when I mentioned the horndog vote. Anyone who can let his vote be swayed by a pair of tits has no business in the voting booth.

  3. I am a dog and really the only qualified “tail” commenting on this blog. (Horndog, really?? Still trying to live down the pitbull comments.. But, I digress 😉 ) We really should be concentrating on whether or not Palin is qualified to be the VICE PRESIDENT, not the President. From what I have seen, she is not capable of playing second fiddle.

  4. Rufus, true we should be concentrating on whether or not she’s qualified to be VP, but we also have to consider McCain’s age and health and realize that he may not live another four years, and that would leave Palin with her fingers on the buttons and the next case of PMS only 28 days away.

  5. “1. Why do you claim credit for stopping the bridge to nowhere when you supported it until Congress was ready to decline it and the citizens of Alaska spoke out against it?”
Have you seen Ted Stevens and the way he works? He’s an incredibly mean, bullying politician, and frankly, I can’t blame her for not wanting to make waves with him. He could have incinerated her for such insolence.

“2. Why did you use your position as Governor to try and get your ex-brother-in-law fired and then force the state police chief out for refusing to do so?”
They haven’t proven that yet, and she’s innocent until proven guilty.

“3. Do you feel capable of taking over the presidency even though you have no foriegn relations experience?”
True, she has had no experience, and I’m curious how she’ll approach this.

“4. Since you disagree with Hillary Clinton on just about everything, what makes you think that her former supporters should now support you?”
She’s a woman. I really think that’s the main attraction, as far as attracting Hillary supporters who were already going to vote for McCain.

“5. Are you ready for an open public debate with the Democratic candidate Joe Biden?”
That I would like to see. Both are relative unknowns.
